Preparation

Thorough preparation is crucial to how the final result will look and will define and set apart a high-end decorator from the rest.

One of the preparation methods Paul Jourey Decorating uses to obtain top quality results  is the Dustless sanding system which enables us to acheive the smoothest of results. As Paul says "its all in the prep !!"

Cracks and holes in walls & ceilings are opened and twice filled, then sanded back for a smooth finish before painting. All plaster boarding ceiling cracks are repaired with joining tape and twice filled.

All surfaces are sanded before and between coats.

Stains to be blocked with high quality stain blocker prior to painting.

Both interior and exterior woodwork is scraped back and holes and cracks are twice filled with durable  woodfiller, then sanded back for a smooth finish.

 Exterior Preperation

All existing paintwork on exterior surfaces is either sanded or burnt back depending upon customers budget, to provide a smooth and firm base on which to apply fresh paint.

(Typically windows & sills for instance as shown in before & after pictures).

We ensure and guarantee that all areas are covered with large plastic backed dustsheets to protect floors, furniture and other surfaces.
